In this workshop you will gain knowledge on the basic principles of nutrition, a basic introduction to the human body compositions & its biomechanics, and an introduction to nutrition in relation to optimal performance.

Claudine Grech Spiteri is an Exercise and Nutrition Scientist.
Grech Spiteri also studied for an MSc in Exercise and Nutrition Science at the University of Chester, with the Faculty of Medicine and Clinical Sciences in the United Kingdom from 2016 till 2017, and she was certified as an EU Registered Nutritionist in 2018.
She is also a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Medicine, Biomedical Sciences department at the University of Malta where her research focuses on nutritive strategies for the prevention of colorectal cancer.
Her line of work involves evaluating athletes’ behaviours, actions, and reactions to help them perform better both during and after training sessions, contests, and competitive games. Additionally, she provides support and guidance to the coaches to reach their goals for their athletes.
Her profession consists of analysing the athlete’s behaviour, actions and reactions for better performance during and after training sessions and competitions/ competitive games. She does this by analysing through physics principles of body movement and gravity, body chemical reactions and processes during and after exercise and body physiology.
Her clients vary from football teams, water polo teams, ironman (triathlon) athletes and ultra-athletes, dancers, cyclists and swimmers, and clients with medical conditions or other health issues. Ms. Spiteri also lectures personal trainers with regards to nutrition in relation to fitness and performance, and exercise prescription.
