With more than twenty years of experience in healthcare, Uniplural Academy was launched by the founders and shareholders of Uniplural Group Ltd, Aaron Axiaq and Claire Bellizzi. The professional team at Uniplural Academy works together to provide quality assurance and a high standard of education.
Claire Bellizzi
Co-Founder & Head of the Academy
Ms Bellizzi is directly responsible for areas such as Public Information, Curriculum Development and Review, Quality Assurance, Teaching Staff, Learning, Teaching, Assessment, Resources and Support. Ms Bellizzi is also co-founder and Director of Quality Assurance and Standards of Uniplural Group.
Aaron Axiaq
Co-Founder & CEO of the Academy
Mr. Aaron Axiaq is responsible for the main areas of Operation including Finance, the Academy Registry Functions and Information Management. Mr Aaron Axiaq is also co-founder and Director of Business Operations and Development of Uniplural Group which originated in 2012 and nowadays employs over 300 employees in the care and service sector.
Charmaine Montesin
Chief Projects Officer
Ms. Charmaine Montesin is a nurse by profession and holds a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Manchester in the UK. Over the years Ms. Montesin has managed several facilities both in the public and the private sector. Among the various management roles, she has held, she held the position of Director of Nursing and Midwifery at Mater Dei Hospital and General Manager of Hilltop Gardens. Ms. Montesin is also a part-time senior lecturer at the University of Malta. In her present role, as Chief Projects Officer within Uniplural Group, she has been entrusted to lead new projects which the group is embarking on.
Charelle Micallef
Academic Operations Executive
Ms. Charelle Micallef has a passion for inspiring and motivating teams to achieve common goals. With a background in tutoring communication skills, she brings valuable experience in guiding individuals to enhance their interpersonal abilities. Her journey in business development within the education sector has equipped her with insights into creating impactful strategies for growth and innovation.
In her position, Ms. Micallef liaises with all parties needed for the delivery of academic programs and curricula with the ultimate aim of delivering quality learning experiences for our students. She consistently upholds high standards for herself and her team and actively seeks out new challenges and opportunities for our collective success.
Christian Micallef
Academic Manager
Mr. Christian Micallef is a Practice Development Nurse with 15 years of experience and holds a Master’s degree in Gerontology and Geriatrics from the University of Malta. Mr Micallef is responsible in shaping the academic direction of the Academy, fostering a culture of excellence, and ensuring that students receive a high-quality education that prepares them for success in their chosen fields.
Bernard Cutajar
Administration Manager
Mr. Bernard Cutajar is the responsible for the administrative functions of the academy, supporting the academic mission, and fostering an inclusive learning environment for students and lecturers. Mr Cutajar brings a wealth of experience to the role, having managed diverse teams and honed their skills over two decades in the banking industry.
